Bimmerstock, 2012

Made my way back to this show again.  Well put-together, with proceeds going to diabetes research.  Chew on these for a little while.

Jane's Addiction

It's such a strange experience to be standing next to and photographing the very bands that helped define one's youth.  That's what it was like for me to shoot Jane's Addiction at The Mann.  A surreal experience.  The only real problem with this, is that as a 'professional' photographer with a pit pass, you're only allowed to shoot the first three songs of the set.  Once your time's up, a group of sweaty, frantic security enforcers hurriedly usher you out, as though something terrible would happen if heaven forbid you were there slightly longer.  This results in a frantic scramble for pictures, all while struggling with constantly variable lighting, no lighting, purple lighting, the list goes on.  But I guess that's part of the excitement too.

Mad Decent Block Party!

This was an incredible outdoor show held at Great Plaza at Penn's Landing, Philadelphia, PA, and put on by none other than DJ Diplo himself.  Featuring a host of performers and DJ's, it was quite a fascinating experience.  90 degrees out, with 100% humidity.  You felt lucky when you got shot with one of the hundreds of water guns in attendance.  The vast majority of the crowd was either drunk or high, or both.  But naturally this made for some interesting photographs, so I wasn't complaining.

Orion Festival: A huge gathering of some fantastic rock bands down in Atlantic City, NJ.  A few from my childhood, others I've never heard before in my life.  Two stood out for me; Metallica, a staple of mine from day one, and Suicidal Tendencies.  Used to listen to these guys on my Walkman on the way to the bus stop in high school.  That's right, on tape.

Lambertville High School

So glad I made the trip over to the old Lambertville High School.  I heard it was fading fast and wanted to get in there before it collapsed.  Turns out, it's a good thing I did; it was demolished recently in a single day, according to local newspapers.  Good memories of that place.  Enjoy the pics.
